When the rumor of a lost gold mine under Civic City hits the airwaves, the Kid and his gang make for the spot, and loot the treasure. Then they discover the gold is in a bank vault and is part of a trap laid by the Atom and Green Lantern. After a brief battle, the duo follow the Kid and get a surprise. Meanwhile the rest of the JSA figure out that the professor is missing from the hospital and a ghost town is being used as the gang's hideout, so they head for Silver Butte. There they are taken prisoner by the Kid, but GL's ring saves the day, the Kid is unmasked and the gold recovered.
