The opera house setting of Lee Bermejo and Jim Royal's cover tells the whole story in one gripping image: Superman swoops in as a tuxedo-clad Lex Luthor recoils in wide-eyed alarm, a gun tumbling through the air between them, with an opera singer visible in the distant background. The story title "La Mort du Luthor!" — "The Death of Luthor!" — promises high drama with a theatrical flourish that perfectly matches the elegant, shadowy atmosphere Bermejo brings to the scene. Stuart Immonen, Mark Millar, and Yanick Paquette deliver what looks to be a tense, noir-tinged chapter of the Man of Steel's ongoing adventures in this February 2000 issue.
