Sanford Greene is an American comics artist best known for his dynamic, expressive work across Marvel, DC, Image, and Dark Horse. Born in 1972, he entered the industry in the early 2000s, quickly establishing himself with a bold, energetic style that blends streetwise grit with superhero flair. Greene’s signature work includes co-creating the acclaimed series *Bitter Root* with writers Chuck Brown and David F. Walker, a genre-bending tale of a family of monster hunters set during the Harlem Renaissance. He also created the webcomic *1000* with Brown. Among his most-credited titles are *Power Man and Iron Fist*, *Wonder Girl*, *Marvel Adventures Spider-Man*, and *The Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century*, where his art brought a fresh, kinetic energy to classic characters. Greene’s contributions have earned him both Eisner and Ringo Awards, recognizing his impact on modern comics. Still active as of 2025, he continues to work as an artist, colorist, inker, and writer, leaving a legacy of vibrant storytelling and inclusive, character-driven narratives.
