Gregg Hurwitz
Gregg Andrew Hurwitz was born on August 12, 1973, in the United States. He is best known in comics for his work on Batman: The Dark Knight and Vengeance of the Moon Knight, as well as the miniseries Penguin: Pain & Prejudice. Hurwitz entered the industry through his established career as a novelist and screenwriter, bringing a thriller writer’s sense of pacing to superhero storytelling. His comic work for DC and Marvel spans from 2007 to 2022, totaling about 60 issues. He frequently collaborated with artists such as David Finch on Batman and Szymon Kudranski on Penguin. Among his notable co-creations is the character Knighted, a new hero introduced in his own series. Later in his career, Hurwitz continued to balance comics with prose thrillers like the Orphan X series, which was adapted into a film. He has not received major comic industry awards, but his work is respected for its psychological depth and narrative tension.
