Wither
Wither is a Marvel mutant whose power causes organic matter to wither and decay at his touch, making him an outcast who struggles to connect with others. He was a student at the Xavier Institute, appearing in stories centered on the next generation of mutants.
A brooding presence born from the Modern Age of Marvel mutantkind, Wither made their first appearance in the Marvel Holiday Special 2004 #1, brought to life by Tom DeFalco and Takeshi Miyazawa. Over a span of roughly fifteen years, this character carved out a niche in the younger, rawer corner of the X-Men universe, appearing most prominently in New X-Men and New Mutants — series that placed emerging mutants front and center alongside heavy hitters like Emma Frost and Julian Keller. With a key issue among their appearances and a catalog presence that spans into 2020, Wither is a compelling figure for collectors who appreciate the texture and tension of Marvel's next generation of mutant storytelling.
