Prince James
Born in the pages of Blue Ribbon Comics #9 in 1941, Prince James is a Golden Age original conjured by Joe Blair and Sam Cooper during comics' most adventurous founding era. What makes this character's story quietly remarkable is the sheer span of it — from those wartime newsstand pages all the way through to 2023, an 82-year arc that few characters from that era can claim, with at least one appearance earning key-issue recognition along the way. Much of that longevity plays out through Gwandanaland Comics' archival reprints, where Prince James keeps some wonderfully eclectic company — sharing pages with the likes of Mr. Justice, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, and Veronica Lodge across digest and double-digest collections. A genuine Golden Age survivor worth seeking out for any collector with a taste for the rare and the enduring.
