“Ashes to Ashes: Part 1”

In "Ashes to Ashes: Part 1," the legacy of the Mighty Crusaders takes a dark turn as their utopian town of Red Circle faces a sudden and brutal assault. Years after the heroes supposedly vanquished all evil, Joe Higgins arrives at a celebration marking the town's founding—only to witness the Brain Emperor's devastating attack and the mysterious disappearance of The Shield and the children. Written by Ian Flynn and illustrated by Ben Bates, with inks by Gary Martin, colors by Matt Herms, and letters by John Workman, this first issue sets a tense, emotional tone with a cover by Ben Bates that captures the moment of chaos.
