Nanaue
Nanaue — better known as King Shark — is the monstrous son of a shark deity, possessing a towering humanoid shark's body and ferocious strength. Savage and predatory by nature, he has clashed with and occasionally allied with DC's heroes across Aquaman's undersea world and beyond.
Debuting in Superboy #66 in 1999, Nanaue is a DC Comics creation from the cusp of the Modern Age, brought to life by Karl Kesel and Aaron Lopresti. Over a publishing history stretching more than a quarter century, this distinctive character has surfaced across titles like Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis and Adventure Comics, sharing pages with heavy-hitters including Superboy, The Flash, and Green Lantern. With 27 years of appearances and a résumé that spans some of DC's most adventurous corners of storytelling, Nanaue is a quietly compelling figure well worth tracking down for any fan who loves the weirder, wilder edges of the DC universe.
