Superboy returns to the Wild Lands in this September 1999 issue, and the cover by Tom Grummett and Karl Kesel sets an immediate tone of danger — Superboy lunges forward in his signature jacket and S-shield costume alongside a lion-maned warrior woman and a sword-wielding tiger-striped humanoid fighter, all of them bracing against a massive looming shadow. The bold tagline asks "Hunter or Hunted?" as the group faces the ominous Creature from the Glowing Swamp, with eerie green light reflecting off the swamp below. With Karl Kesel writing and Aaron Lopresti on interior art, "Wild Hunt!" looks like a thrilling adventure deep in one of DC's most imaginative corners.
