Montana

Montana is a member of the Enforcers in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, a street-level criminal crew that clashes with Spider-Man. Like his classic counterpart, he specializes in lasso and rope-based combat, serving as muscle within the group alongside Fancy Dan and Bruno Sanchez.

A creature of the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Montana made his debut in 2001 courtesy of the legendary team of Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley, stepping onto the page of Ultimate Spider-Man #9 as part of that line's bold, modernized reimagining of classic Marvel menace. Over a run spanning two decades, this villain carved out a niche in Marvel's Ultimate continuity, sharing the page with the wall-crawler himself as well as fellow troublemakers like Fancy Dan and Bruno Sanchez. With appearances stretching from the early Ultimate Spider-Man era all the way to Miles Morales: Ultimate End in 2021, Montana proved durable enough to outlast many of his contemporaries in that universe — a testament to the staying power of a well-crafted antagonist in the hands of some of comics' finest architects.
