Mighty Mouse
Originally debuting as 'Super Mouse,' this pint-sized parody of Superman gained incredible powers — including superhuman strength, flight, and invulnerability — and dedicated himself to protecting fellow mice and the helpless from villains and cats. The character was later renamed Mighty Mouse.
Few Golden Age heroes have charmed readers across as many decades as Mighty Mouse, the pint-sized powerhouse who first burst onto the scene in Terry-Toons Comics #38 in 1945 and has been delighting fans ever since — a remarkable run stretching all the way to 2021. Born from the golden era of funny-animal comics under Marvel's banner, he's shared the page with a wonderfully zany cast including Gandy Goose, Sourpuss, and the wisecracking duo Heckle and Jeckle, making his corner of the comics universe one of the most entertainingly chaotic around. With his own dedicated titles — Mighty Mouse and Mighty Mouse Comics among them — plus a key-issue appearance that any serious collector should know about, this little champion has earned an outsized place in comics history. Sixty-two catalog appearances and seven-plus decades of publication speak for themselves: Mighty Mouse is the real deal.
