Mighty Mouse blazes across this cheerful 1947 Marvel cover in a blur of yellow and red, scattering copies of Terry-Toons Comics in every direction as a crowd of the gang's familiar cartoon characters scramble and reach for the flying issues. It's a wonderfully self-referential image — the comic celebrating itself with pure animated energy and a grinning Mighty Mouse at the center of the chaos. A great snapshot of postwar funny-animal comics at their most playful, and "The Menace From Mars" promises plenty of adventure waiting inside.
