Lord Hebi
Lord Hebi is a scheming feudal lord and antagonist in Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo, moving in the dangerous political circles surrounding the villainous Lord Hikiji. His name means 'snake' in Japanese, reflecting his cunning, treacherous nature.
A slithering presence in Stan Sakai's beloved Usagi Yojimbo universe, Lord Hebi made his entrance in the 1986 Summer Special and has cast his shadow across the series for more than three decades. Within Sakai's richly imagined feudal Japan, he keeps dangerous company — sharing pages with the wandering ronin Miyamoto Usagi, the formidable Tomoe Ame, and the shadowy Lord Hikiji, which tells you something about the circles this lord moves in. Across Usagi Yojimbo and Usagi Yojimbo: Senso, his 16 catalog appearances are the mark of a character Sakai returns to deliberately, making him one of the more enduring figures in a world that rewards patient, careful reading.
