Jarella
Jarella was the warrior queen of K'ai, a subatomic world hidden within a single atom. When the Hulk was accidentally shrunk to her planet's scale, he arrived as both champion and love interest, with Jarella's sorcerers briefly granting him Bruce Banner's intellect.
Jarella is one of the Bronze Age's most quietly beloved Marvel creations, stepping onto the page in The Incredible Hulk #155 in 1972 β a debut crafted by Archie Goodwin and Herb Trimpe that clearly left a lasting impression, with two of her appearances earning key-issue status among collectors. She moves through stories alongside some of Marvel's heaviest hitters β the Hulk himself, Bruce Banner, Betty Ross, and even Captain America β which speaks to the emotional and narrative weight she carries within the Hulk's world. Over five decades of publication history and a presence concentrated in the classic Incredible Hulk run, Jarella is the kind of character who rewards deeper digging: a figure whose significance outlasts her page count and whose place in Bronze Age Marvel lore is well worth exploring.
