Destro is the weapons dealer and arms merchant adversary of G.I. Joe, infamous for his signature metal mask and leadership of M.A.R.S. Industries. In IDW's continuity, he operates among the Joe universe's most dangerous figures, including Baroness and Cobra operatives.

Destro made his IDW debut in the pages of G.I. Joe: Origins #16 (2010), brought to life by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Álex Cal during a fertile Modern Age era of Joe storytelling. Though his catalog footprint is compact, he moves in genuinely elite company — sharing pages with the likes of Baroness, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and Anastasia Cisarovna across G.I. Joe: Origins, G.I.
