G.I. Joe: Origins #16
In G.I. Joe: Origins #16 (2010), Zartan takes a dramatic turn when he hijacks President Rumanapar’s plane, trading the leader’s life for political concessions. As he secures a new ally in the Baroness, his past begins to surface—flashing back to a childhood marked by police harassment—before he becomes the unexpected test subject in the M.A.R.S. teleportation experiment. Written by Chuck Dixon and illustrated by Álex Cal, with colors by Neil Uyetake and letters by Chris Mowry, this issue’s cover by Tom Feister captures the tension of a man caught between memory and mission.
