Young King Cole

A whimsical, light-hearted comic from the mid-1940s, Young King Cole (1945–1948) reimagined the nursery-rhyme monarch as a modern, adventurous boy-king. Published by Novelty / Premium / Curtis, the series blended fairy-tale fantasy with contemporary humor, with regular contributions from writers Milton English, Robert Plate, and Roy Garn, and artists Al McWilliams, Jim Wilcox, and Pete Riss.
