Superman Extra

From 1980 to 1985, Egmont Ehapa’s Superman Extra offered a compact, 12-issue series built around the Man of Steel’s classic adventures. The stories were most often penned by Cary Bates, Martin Pasko, and Bob Haney, with the iconic Curt Swan, Kurt Schaffenberger, and Lee Elias providing the clean, expressive artwork. This short-lived German-published title served as a focused showcase for Superman’s Silver and Bronze Age heroics, bringing familiar DC tales to a new audience. It remains a tidy, fondly remembered snapshot of the era’s superhero storytelling.
