Not Brand Echh
Marvel · 1967–1969 · 13 issues
About the series
A madcap parody series from Marvel's late-1960s Silver Age, Not Brand Echh ran for 13 issues and gleefully skewered the very superheroes that made the publisher famous. With a rotating creative team that included Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, and Marie Severin, the book sent up Marvel's own cast—along with DC's icons and pop culture at large—through absurdist humor and cartoonish art. It introduced the hapless fanboy Irving Forbush and his alter ego Forbush Man, serving as a playful, self-aware footnote in Marvel history that showed the company could laugh at itself.
