About the series
Marvel’s Dead of Night (1973–1975) was an 11-issue horror anthology series that leaned into the macabre, featuring standalone tales of monsters, ghosts, and the supernatural. Written primarily by Stan Lee and Carl Wessler, with artwork from legends like Jack Kirby, Joe Sinnott, and John Tartaglione, it showcased the darker side of Marvel’s 1970s output. Though short-lived, the series is notable for its atmospheric, EC Comics-inspired storytelling and for introducing the monstrous Man-Thing in a backup feature that would later spin into his own solo title.
