About the series
From 1982 to 1986, Editora Abril gave Brazil’s most famously dirt-averse boy his own solo series, Cascão, spinning off from the beloved Turma da Mônica universe. Scripted and drawn primarily by creator Mauricio de Sousa, the 114-issue run followed the adventures of the water-fearing, mud-loving Cascão alongside his pals Cebolinha, Mônica, and Magali. This title deepened the humor and heart of de Sousa’s iconic children’s comics, cementing Cascão as a fan-favorite character in Brazilian pop culture.
