History

The Wynd saga originated with a concept Tynion IV first sketched out as a teenager, making it among the most personally rooted works in his career. The series launched in June 2020 as a surprise, solicitation-cycle-breaking release from BOOM! Studios — the first such title the publisher had announced and released outside the standard three-month advance solicitation window. Tynion IV and Dialynas had previously collaborated for three years on The Woods, the GLAAD Award-winning series at BOOM!, and reunited for Wynd under the publisher's BOOM! Box imprint, later continuing through the main BOOM! Studios line, with The Power of the Blood co-produced through Tynion's own multimedia house, Tiny Onion. The letterer AndWorld Design has been consistent throughout the final arc, maintaining production continuity as the series moved from five-issue miniseries chapters to the expanded eight-issue concluding volume.
