By the time this issue went on sale in September 1953, Robert Kanigher had been the de facto writer and actual editor of Wonder Woman for roughly six years, having taken over scripting duties after creator William Moulton Marston's death in 1947—all while the scripts carried the long-standing house pseudonym 'Charles Moulton,' a name formed by combining Marston's middle name with that of publisher M.C. Gaines. The Grand Comics Database records show that the credited editor on the indicia was Whitney Ellsworth, while Kanigher served as actual editor—a common production arrangement at National Comics Publications (DC) during this period. The interior art for the key stories was drawn by Harry G. Peter, the co-creator who had illustrated Wonder Woman continuously since her debut in 1941 and was by this point in his early seventies, still the defining visual voice of the character. The cover itself was pencilled by Irwin Hasen and inked by Bernard Sachs, a credit that was only corrected after later scholarly discussion on the Grand Comics Database.
