Felled in the initial assault and now comatose, Hippolyta leaves Diana to shoulder the burden of defending Paradise Island alone. With her allies overwhelmed and her strength tested, Diana must find a way to turn the tide—before the island falls. Written by Mike Sekowsky and illustrated by Mike Sekowsky, with inks by Dick Giordano and letters by Milt Snapinn, the cover by Sekowsky and Giordano captures the intensity of the moment.

A messenger brings Diana back to Paradise Island, which has been attacked by Ares, who seeks to wrest the secret of inter-dimensional travel from Hippolyta. Felled in the initial battle, Hippolyta lies in a coma, and so it falls to Diana to make the decision to fight on. Horribly outnumbered and battered by another battle, Diana must come up with a new plan to turn the tide.
