Writer Chris Claremont, who defined both Madripoor and the Logan-Cap-Widow triangle across his original Uncanny X-Men run, returned to Marvel to script this five-issue limited series with interior artist Edgar Salazar and cover artist Philip Tan. An editorial note within the issue explicitly positions the story immediately after the events of Uncanny X-Men #268, making it a canonical 'interquel' set in the same late-1980s/early-1990s continuity window rather than in the present-day Marvel timeline. Editors Drew Baumgartner, Mark Basso, and Jordan D. White shepherded the project under editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski; the complete series was subsequently collected in a 136-page trade paperback (ISBN 9781302952242), also released with an Italian-language edition by Panini Comics Italia.
