Weird Love #3
In "There's No Romance in Rock and Roll!", Doris Bassett, the office manager at Mike Cullen’s workplace, faces a difficult decision when she must fire him—though her heart isn’t in it. After Mike’s dismissal, she quietly arranges a new job for him with his uncle, a gesture he only learns about later. When he discovers her behind-the-scenes efforts, their emotional connection reaches a tipping point, leading to a tender moment that ends with a playful scolding and a promise of an early wedding. Ernesto R. Garcia handles both art and inks with a sharp, expressive style, while Al Avison’s cover captures the story’s mix of melancholy and warmth.
