“The Ship of Lost Souls”

In "The Ship of Lost Souls," John Blane, a man obsessed with defying death at age seventy, drinks a forbidden elixir meant to grant eternal life—after a fatal act of violence. Though sentenced to die by electric chair, he survives, only to spiral into a life of crime and suffering, culminating in a brutal car accident that leaves him trapped in a hospital bed for eternity. The story, illustrated with stark intensity by Charles Nicholas, unfolds with a chilling sense of inevitability, while Jack Cole’s cover art captures the eerie, doomed atmosphere of the tale.
