Walt Disney's Comics and Stories Vault #1
This first volume in IDW's Vault series digs into the archives of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, presenting a curated selection of classic Disney comic strips and stories from the title's long run. Among the highlights are tales featuring Brer Rabbit and Brer Terrapin, drawn from the Uncle Remus-inspired adaptations that appeared in the series. It's a collector-focused collection that showcases lesser-seen material from the Disney comic vaults.
In "The Mighty Trapper," Li'l Bad Wolf takes center stage in a school play adaptation of "Little Red Riding Hood," only to find his moment stolen when Big Bad Wolf abducts the cat cast as the wolf and takes on the role himself—disguised as the star of the show. Written and illustrated by Gil Turner, with coloring by Digikore Studios and lettering by Turner, this story blends classic Disney charm with a playful twist. The cover, a vibrant collaboration by Ulrich Schröder and Daan Jippes, captures the mischievous energy of the tale.
