Arriving in a new town, Usagi finds Mitsui's warehouse on fire and helps organize locals into putting it out. Mitsui thanks Usagi and welcomes him into his home. Mitsui is in the business of soy sauce, like his rival Hata whom may be responsible for the fire. Usagi learns about soy sauce production and offers to help guard the warehouse. Mitsui's servant Kanai begins his watch over the warehouse as someone enters the facility.
