Robert Kirkman's "Phoenix? Part 2" brings some serious physical drama to this 2006 installment of Ultimate X-Men. Ben Oliver's cover puts a green-skinned, hammer-wielding figure looming overhead while Cyclops, visor gleaming, grapples with a wide-eyed, heavyset opponent in a tense close-quarters struggle. Oliver's painted linework gives the confrontation a visceral weight that makes this arc feel genuinely gripping.
