Ultimate X-Men #32
The penultimate chapter of "Return of the King" arrives with a cover that puts Colossus front and center — steel-skinned and snarling, bursting through debris as shattered wood, broken glass, and scattered red flower petals rain around him. Adam Kubert's cover pencils give the scene a tremendous sense of raw force, perfectly suited to where a six-part story ought to be at this stage. Mark Millar and Adam Kubert's 2003 run on Ultimate X-Men was firing on all cylinders, and this image of destruction and defiance makes a compelling case for picking up the whole arc.
