History

The Incursion miniseries was conceived as the first crossover event for Marvel's second Ultimate Universe, co-written by Deniz Camp — the architect of the flagship Ultimates title — and Cody Ziglar, the regular writer of Miles Morales: Spider-Man, making it a deliberate fusion of the 616 and Earth-6160 corners of Marvel publishing. The series was structured to thread through all five active Ultimate ongoing titles simultaneously, a logistical ambition that Marvel and editor Wilson Moss had been building toward throughout the line's debut year. A prologue appeared in the Free Comic Book Day 2025 one-shot on May 3, 2025, with the main series launching June 4, 2025, and issue #4 shipping September 10, 2025; the entire series was collected in trade paperback in February 2026. Artist Jonas Scharf, who had already established the visual tone of Earth-6160 in Ultimate Universe: One Year In, carried that moody aesthetic across all five issues.

The issue is set in the Eurasian Republic — the Earth-6160 analog of Russia/Eurasia — where Miles Morales and Maystorm (Mei Igarashi) pursue and ultimately subdue Magik (Illyana Rasputin-6160).
Cliffhanger ending: Emmanuel Da Costa (the Black King) kills the technicians holding Billie Morales, abducts her, and presents her to the City — positioning the Rasputins' machine to use Billie's interdimensional energy to open it.
Kwaku Anansi appears briefly, acknowledging to Miles that he cannot directly intervene in events — continuing the series' running thread of the spider-deity as a witness rather than an agent.
