What begins as a simple recruitment attempt spirals into something far more sinister when they find Jimmy’s gear—and then spot him, dressed in fine clothes, vanishing into a luxury Rolls Royce. With art by Martin Asbury and a striking cover by Harold Johns, this 1970 issue blends suburban unease with a pulse-pounding sense of the uncanny.
Val and Frank watch fifteen-year-old footballer Jimmy Strand play, stunned by his talent. When they offer him a spot on their team, he vanishes—only to be found moments later, dressed in fine clothes and riding away in a Rolls Royce, while his old gear lies abandoned in a derelict house.
When Aunt May sends Peter to bed, thinking he’s unwell, the newly introduced Kangaroo slips free from federal custody and steals a vial he mistakes for money—only to learn it contains deadly bacteria. Peter sneaks out to stop him, succeeding in retrieving the vial, but returns to find Aunt May collapsed after discovering the web dummy he left behind. The weight of his actions settles on him, deeper than ever before.
