“Man Trap”

In "Man Trap," Peter Parker’s quiet evening takes a sharp turn when Aunt May, worried he’s ill, puts him to bed—just as the Kangaroo escapes federal agents and steals a vial he mistakes for money. Sneaking out to stop him, Peter recovers the vial, only to return and find Aunt May collapsed beside the web-swinging dummy he left behind. Written by Stan Lee and John Romita, with art by John Buscema and Jim Mooney, and a cover by Harold Johns, this 1970 issue captures a rare moment of personal stakes and guilt in Peter’s ongoing struggle.
