Truth: Red, White & Black #7
In "The Blackvine," Faith Bradley reveals the painful truth behind Isaiah Bradley’s legacy: a hero who survived a deadly mission only to be imprisoned for 17 years in solitary confinement at Leavenworth, wrongfully accused of stealing the Captain America uniform. Despite the devastating toll of experimental serum and brutal treatment that left him mentally childlike, Isaiah still lives—his story a quiet testament to resilience. Written by Robert Morales and illustrated in bold, expressive style by Kyle Baker, this powerful issue deepens the legacy of Captain America with emotional weight and moral complexity, its cover by Baker capturing the moment’s gravity.

Faith Bradley tells Captain America that despite Isaiah Bradley's successful mission and escape from enemy lines, he was convicted of stealing the Captain America uniform and spent 17 years in solitary confinement at Leavenworth. He yet lives, but the combined effect of harsh treatment and the experimental super soldier serum have left him in a child-like mental state. Captain America expresses his grief for what the family has suffered (unbeknownst to him, but putatively in his name), and returns the uniform to Isaiah Bradley.
