In a playful twist of cosmic storytelling, Franklin Richards asks Thing to tell him a bedtime story about Wolverine—only this version reimagines the mutant as the last survivor of Planet Mongo, raised by Earth farmers, bonded with adamantium in Mexico, and a member of the Arriba Flight before joining Professor Malcolm X's X-Men. Written by Pat McCallum, Tom Root, Doug Goldstein, and Bill Jenson, this imaginative tale blends sci-fi adventure with a quiet moment of reflection, as Thing gently reminds Franklin that even heroes have their endings.

Reed gets Thing to babysit Franklin as he and Sue attend the science awards. He puts him to bed early so he can watch the Jets game. Franklin asks for a bedtime story about Wolverine. Wolverine was the last survivor of Planet Mongo, rocketed to Earth, and was raised by farm people. He received his adamantium skeleton in Mexico, and joined the team Arriba Flight. Later he joined Professor Malcolm X's X-Men, and was killed in the future by a big robot. Thing tells Franklin everyone dies.
