Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #24

· Wizard Entertainment · 4.99 USD

In this delightfully absurd issue of Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #24, the beach becomes a surreal stage where Iron Man, rusted and vulnerable, faces off against crabs, while Bucky unwittingly constructs a sandcastle from the Sandman—only for the Hulk to demolish it. As chaos unfolds, the Hulk finds an unexpected kindred spirit in Daisy, and their romance blooms—until tragedy strikes with a shark attack. With Atlantis on the move and Bucky sacrificing himself in a final, heroic stand, the issue closes with a dance that feels both inevitable and oddly peaceful. Written by Pat McCallum, Tom Root, and Doug Goldstein, and illustrated, inked, and colored by Paul Schiraldi, this surreal beachside romp blends absurdity and heart in equal measure.

Everyone is at the beach. Iron Man has rusted together, and is attacked by crabs. Bucky is building a sandcastle unknowingly out of Sandman, but Hulk smashes it. Hulk continues to run around the beach, smashing sandcastles, until he comes across Daisy, who is also smashing sandcastles. They fall in love. They date. Everything is going well until Daisy is eaten by a shark. Atlantis attacks, and a now buff Bucky tries to stop them, but is killed. Everyone dances.
