Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #124

Dec 2007 · Wizard Entertainment · 4.99 USD

In this playful and imaginative issue of Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #124, a classic Star Trek twist takes center stage as Kirk and Spock answer a distress call from their own alternate selves—only to find themselves in the Mirror Universe, where alliances are reversed and logic is under siege. Written by Tom Root, Justin Aclin, Jon Gutierrez, Rob Bricken, Ward, and Collins, the story unfolds with a clever mix of humor and sci-fi intrigue, culminating in a surprising shift that turns the duo into women, all before the final page. The cover by Ward adds a bold, stylized touch to this delightfully absurd adventure.

On the ship, Kirk receives a distress call from himself. He and Spock go to the Mirror Universe, where they learn that the Klingons are their allies and the Vulcans their enemies. The Vulcans are trying to wipe out all logic in the universe. High Inquisitor Spock threatens and captures them. They are saved when Spock goes through the Pon Farr of Responsibleness. While they are distracted, red shirts kill the Vulcans. Kirk and Spock are then transported to a universe where they are women.
