Ed Brubaker and Duncan Fegredo bring their two-part saga to its promised "shocking conclusion" in this 2005 America's Best Comics entry. The cover by Chris Sprouse and Karl Story presents a brooding man in a long trench coat striding down a grey city street, a gun in one hand and a bag in the other, while a massive, stern-faced image of Tom Strong looms overhead in the cloudy sky. It's a moody, noir-inflected image that sets a distinctly serious tone for the Science Hero's story.
