The issue also includes an educational feature "Western Range Book" discussing the horse wrangler's role in Old West cattle ranching, treasure troves and lost missions, and western terminology, along with additional stories including "The Ghost Rider," "Battle at Bullock Gap," "Stranger in Town," "The Land Grabbers," and "Kiowa Death Trap."
Two young would-be outlaws join up with the fugitive "Ugly" Burr Benson, who offers them a thousand dollars to capture Tim Holt alive—Benson wants the pleasure of killing him himself. When the trio manages to take Tim prisoner and force him across the harsh desert toward Benson's hideout, Tim's courage and quick thinking in the face of stampeding buffalo, brutal heat, and a Comanche raiding party begin to plant seeds of doubt in his captors' minds about the man they're working for. As the journey tests them all, Tim proves that real strength lies not in ruthlessness, but in the choices you make when nobody's watching.
When a lynch mob drags an innocent man toward the noose, Rex Fury—the Ghost Rider—rises from the shadows to expose the truth and stop the hanging. But the spectral avenger's interference sets off a chain of fear and violence that leads straight to the real culprit, Jed Manders, who'll stop at nothing to silence his victim and destroy the evidence before the law catches up. Ride along as the Ghost Rider hunts for a stolen letter and wages a battle of wits and terror against a desperate man consumed by "Hangman's Hate!"
When Tim Holt and his sidekick Chito Rafferty drive a herd of T-H steers toward market, they clash with Buck Barnett, a ruthless operator who controls the only toll bridge across Claw Creek and charges a dollar a head—with gunmen to enforce it. After one trail boss is beaten for refusing to pay, Tim discovers the bridge is illegal but backed by Barnett's hired guns and a corrupt local court, leaving him arrested for a crime he didn't commit and facing a rigged trial. With his herd impounded and killers closing in, Tim must outmaneuver Barnett's scheme before a Federal Judge can arrive to set things right.
