Thor: God of Thunder #20

Part two of "The Last Days of Midgard" arrives in this 2014 installment from Jason Aaron and Esad Ribić, and the cover alone sets a formidable tone. An aged, white-bearded Thor — Mjolnir in hand and lightning crackling around him — stands defiant against a colossal armored figure whose massive fists dwarf the Thunder God entirely. Ribić's painterly linework makes the scale feel genuinely overwhelming, and Ive Svorcina's cool blue palette gives the whole confrontation an air of world-ending dread that fits the arc's title perfectly.
