Thor: God of Thunder #12

There's something deeply satisfying about a cover that makes a city look small: Esad Ribić's stunning image for issue #12 frames Thor from below as he soars skyward over a densely packed urban skyline, Mjolnir raised aloft and red cape streaming behind him — a god utterly at home above the rooftops of Midgard. The title "Once upon a Time in Midgard" hints that this chapter brings the Thunder God down to Earth in a meaningful way, and with Jason Aaron writing and Nic Klein handling art, colors, and inks throughout, the creative team brings real craft to every page. A thoroughly worthwhile entry in this 2013 run.
