The Walking Dead #84
Part Five of the "No Way Out" arc arrives in this 2011 Image Comics installment, and the cover by Charlie Adlard makes the desperation visceral — a man clutches a limp, unconscious figure in his arms while a relentless horde of walkers closes in from every direction, fires raging in the background. The surrounding dead, arms outstretched and mouths agape, leave no obvious escape route, perfectly capturing the arc's title. Robert Kirkman and Adlard, with Cliff Rathburn's moody coloring, were clearly not pulling punches at this stage of the series.
