The Walking Dead #27

A seething horde of walkers — bloodied, decayed, arms outstretched — presses against what appears to be a motorcycle helmet's visor, their reflections trapped in that curved golden surface as splattered crimson streaks the glass. It's a genuinely unsettling visual from Charlie Adlard, turning a mundane object into a desperate barrier between the living and the dead. Robert Kirkman, Adlard, and Cliff Rathburn continue to make 2006's most harrowing ongoing series feel relentlessly, uncomfortably close.
