The Walking Dead #73

A battle-worn survivor dominates the foreground of this 2010 Image Comics entry, his torn clothing and weary expression suggesting he's just come through something brutal — behind him, skeletal structures smolder against an orange-hazed sky while shadowy figures loom in the distance. Charlie Adlard's cover art captures that signature tension the series does so well: one man holding himself together amid encroaching chaos. Robert Kirkman and the creative team keep the pressure unrelenting, and issue #73 looks to be no exception.
