The Walking Dead #173

Titled "Final Fight," this 2017 Skybound/Image issue plants its flag with a cover by Charlie Adlard that says everything in the starkest possible terms: a battered, bloodied figure with a dark top-knot braces against a massive silhouetted presence looming in from the left, fists raised and face already marked by the struggle. The contrast between the golden-amber sky and that imposing shadow gives the confrontation a real sense of weight and consequence. With Kirkman, Adlard, Gaudiano, and Rathburn all on board, fans of the series will want this one in hand.
