That amber-toned close-up of Negan's face — eyes narrowed, jaw set, radiating barely contained menace — is one of the most quietly unnerving cover compositions the series had delivered by 2015. Charlie Adlard fills the entire frame with that furrowed brow and cold, calculating stare, letting the character's presence do all the work without a single word of dialogue needed. Robert Kirkman, Adlard, Stefano Gaudiano, and Cliff Rathburn are all on board, and the subtitle "…" says everything and nothing at once — a fittingly ominous setup for whatever follows inside.
