Subtitled "Face to Face," this 2014 chapter of Robert Kirkman's long-running survival saga opens with a tense, shadow-drenched cover by Charlie Adlard: a lone figure sits bound to a stool, back to the viewer, while two looming silhouettes flank them on either side — one poised hands-on-hips in armored gear, the other standing firm, both backlit against a harsh pale glow. The composition is spare but deeply unsettling, conveying a power imbalance that feels anything but casual. Adlard, inked by himself and colored by Cliff Rathburn, wrings maximum dread from shadow and body language alone.
