“Gone but Not Forgotten!”

In "Gone but Not Forgotten!", Megatron’s descent into madness after Prime’s demise takes a dangerous turn as Shockwave manipulates the Predacons into attacking him, using forged Autobot symbols to turn the tide. With his mind fractured and his rage unchecked, Megatron barely survives the ambush—only to uncover Shockwave’s deceit and face a choice that will redefine his path. Written by Bob Budiansky and illustrated by Don Perlin, with inks by Ian Akin and Brian Garvey, and vibrant colors by Nel Yomtov, this pivotal 1987 issue sees the fate of Cybertron hang in the balance. The cover, a striking piece by Herb Trimpe, captures the moment of reckoning with chilling intensity.

Megatron becomes insane after Prime's destruction by Ethan last issue instead of by his hands. Shockwave takes advantage by enlisting the Predacons from Cybertron to eliminate Megatron using false Autobot symbols on them. Megatron is almost defeated, but beats them back and when he realizes that Shockwave was behind it, almost destroys him. However, due to a brief memory glance in which he remembers that Ethan somehow 'saved' Prime from the game via a memory download to a disk, he then blasts the space bridge he is on, vowing never to be destroyed by Prime should he ever return.
