This second volume of the Steve Ditko Omnibus series from DC collects the legendary artist and writer's work from the 1970s and 1980s, including his runs on Shade, the Changing Man, and various DC horror and mystery anthology stories. It showcases Ditko's distinctive, idiosyncratic style and his exploration of psychological and cosmic themes across these tales.
In "In the Beginning...", Judge Hall's sentencing of racketeer Mr. Dargo sets off a chain of violence when the mob vows revenge. After a bomb injures the judge and hospitalizes him, his sons Don and Hank track down the threat—only to be offered mysterious power by a strange, disembodied voice. With newfound abilities, the brothers, now known as Hawk and Dove, race to stop the mob from assassinating their father. Written by Steve Skeates and Steve Ditko, with art and inks by Steve Ditko, this pivotal story from The Steve Ditko Omnibus #2 (2012) features cover art by Ditko, capturing the raw energy of a legacy born in crisis.
